On The Money
Many currencies have been around for decades, if not centuries, but Euro bank notes were first circulated in 2002, making it one of the “youngest” currencies in the world. The designs on each of the denominations are consistent throughout the 12 Eurozone countries. Instead of showing specific famous individuals or landmarks, each of the denominations portrays a different style of architecture. This way, all the countries can be equally represented. As of August 2018, there was more than €1.2 trillion in circulation!
Here’s a closer look at each denomination. Click on the images for information about the various architectural styles.
